What I Think Was A Great Movie

Rarely is there a film that comes along that challenges the human psyche. What is also rare is that most movies never talk to you about the difference between what is real and what is imagination. Christopher Nolan ask us this question with his 2010 released movie called, “Inception”. This movie will go down as one of the most mind blowing sci-fi mystery films in the twenty first century. So, I say you should watch this film too.
The film is set during modern times on Earth. The protagonist of the film is Dominic Cobb, played by Leonardo Dicaprio, who goes into dreams to find out secrets about his victims and con them. He then gets an offer from a man named Saito to go into the mind of rival’sson. Yet, in order to do that he and his team must go through a state called inception. The risk is so high in inception that if you die in the dream, you go into an empty dream space called limbo. The film has many twist and turns, but finally ends in a happy note. Though, the ending makes you start thinking on was it real or just a dream.
Well, all I know is that this movie really entertained me to the point that it made me want to start filming my own short films. But I wasn’t the only one that was entertained. Many critics loved the film due to it being very innovate, stylistic, and smart. The movie alone grossed over 23.7 million dollars on opening day and over 500 million overall. Other than them money that was gained from the showing of this film, the other factor of Inception was the visual effects used in the process of most of the scenes.
Throughout the dreams that Dominic infiltrates, the world in the dream bends and shapes to his command. The designers of the game, most who worked on The Dark Knight , worked vigorously to design the settings into an alternate world where there are no since of boundaries and no sets of scientific rules such as gravity. What is interesting about this film though is that there is not a lot of use with computer – generated effects in the movie.  Rather, he decided to use simpler methods to solve the action and high effect scenes inside the production of the film. Though , some scenes required time and planning to make the final product. Example, in one scene Dominic begins to bend the city of Paris; they do this by taking snapshots of Parisian streets, while filming was still going on. Then they pieced the parts together and used other effects to finally make the look as if Paris is actually bending.
Even though the effects and plot are great what is the main theme of the whole movie is it’s question. What is the difference between reality and imagination.Probably we will never know this answer to that question. But the one question that I can answer is was thisa good film. And I say no, it was the greatest film in all of cinema.
