MODERN THINKERS CREED

We believe in sex before, during and after marriage.

We believe in the therapy of sin.

We believe that adultery is fun.

We believe that sodomy is okay.

We believe that taboos are taboo.

We believe that everything is getting better despite evidence to the contrary.

The evidence must be investigated and you can prove anything with evidence.

We believe there is something in horoscopes, UFO’s, and bent spoons.

Jesus was a good man just like Buddha, Mohammad and ourselves.

He was a good moral teacher, although we think basically his good morals were really bad.

We believe that all religions are the basically the same, at least the ones we read were.

They all believe in love and goodness.

POEM:SOLDIERS CREED

I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier

POEM: Rifle Creed

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...
My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until victory is America's and there is no enemy, but peace

POEM: BEST Friend

I love my bestie

She can make my day good

make the sun shine

like her skin.

America is one of the most diverse countries in all of the Western Hemisphere. The reason for this maybe because of the immigration into our country. Due the fact that most immigrants come from war torn or weak economy countries, I understand why they would say this is a great country. Yet, is America such a great country like they say? Personally, I think that is, in a way false from all of what I see.

The reason why I say this is because as far as being a stable country, we are not one of those. Every time I watch the news I always hear how there is either a new problem with the economy, a corrupt official who is taking advantage of workers or his position, or how a crime is being committed. Now if we had better laws to prevent these things from happening, then I probably would change my mind. Though, that is not the only reason why I think America is not a great country. It also how we treat our own citizens when it comes to taking care of them.

I say this because when you look at our health care situation, we are in the top forty’s instead the top ten categories when it comes to the country with the best health care. As well as even when we are one of the countries with the worst health care, we have a government that does not do one thing about it. Instead of helping people with injures, we discard them like trash. Instead of helping others who can’t fend for themselves, we drive them away like unwanted pets. So tell me how can we introduce others from different countries when we have not improved our own problems? Also we have a problem with our government officials that we elect for our offices, to only end up messing everything up.
I mean every time officials take money away from those who are in debt and then try to blame the whole situation on either another official or on the people themselves. Not to mention that those officials take advantage of the immigrants the most. Due to the fact that their new to the country, it is easy to make them fall for new regulations and be taken advantage of because they do not know their rights as a legal American. Now do you think that is justice to people who obviously do not know that their being taken advantage of?  I don’t think sure do not think it is just.

Now do not get me wrong on my judgment. I still believe that we are still a great country, just not a great one. Like I said in paragraphs, we have a lot of problems we need to solve. I think corrupt officials are a good place to start before anything. So, why not start now to solve the problems? Probably with a little action we can make this country great again.

Comparison of "IN OUR FATHER'S HOUSE" & " For COlored Girls"

In the two plays, the plot focuses on women who are trying to gain respect as well as rights that before they would not have had. The stories settings are much alike in the sense that they match the moods of the characters. Example , whenever any of the charcters was going through a tragic time or a sad memory, the whole setting becomes darker than it was before.  Another comparison  of  the two plays is that  both have to do with the advancement of women as well as the gratitude that should be given t women in general.

Tell an outdoors guy about an apartment

An apartment in the city is the greatest thing to have . When you live in an apartment you have alot of advantages than other people. One of the things you have is the ability to live close to the city in the first place. Most apartments actually are located close to cities; either a 10 miles or less. While if you live in the condos in the suburb, you have to travel 20 or moe miles just to get to the outskirts of the city. Another great thing is that you dont have to pay a huge amount of money for the apartment. Most of the apartments only cost about $ 628 or less while a condo is a lot more

POem

A death in the family leaves a void that cannot be filled. No one can ever take the place of this individual in the world. We should not try to comfort the family by saying that "it was his time anyway", or, "he was suffering". These may be words of comfort later. However, there must be time to mourn the fact that things will never be the same. One minute he was here and now he is gone. The human mind must be allowed to sit with this reality. Mourning is a necessary part of the human experience. If it is ignored, a general feeling of sadness may pervade the whole family

Semester# 9

SEMESTER # 9
Do you believe in extraterrestrial life exist?

In this century the question of is there another life beyond our galaxy is the most asked question of all. Of course people would say no there is no possible way there could be. Yet if you look at the past evidence that has happened to us for the past twenty or so years , you will see a number of proofs that may be a thought changer. So is there extraterrestrial life in our or another universe? I personally say yes there is.
Now I know that most of you will say that there couldn’t possibly be another form of life out there in the universe. You might say that because of all the planets in our universe has no oxygen. But think about a fish in water, which can breathe in an ocean. They have the ability to breathe in an environment that we can’t unless we have an air tank on our backs. Basically, I’m saying that just because we can’t breathe in the air on a planet doesn’t mean another life form can’t. Especially with all the evidence that we are getting from Mars with its polar ice caps and dried out water lakes, what’s there stop us from believing?
Other evidence of there being a possibility of alien life forms is of course the lunar sightings in the desert. In every generation, there have been people constantly stating sights of strange creatures and lunar modules. But it’s not just sightings that are turning when talk of aliens come up in the matter. Video tapes, actual abducted people, and findings of heavily magnetic pieces of metal found in deserts. Not mention also top secret military bases that hold in secret items that they will let no one see. It must be something that is so mysterious that the government won’t even let us see it.
Another piece of evidence that brings up a good point is our ancient civilizations. When we look at Egypt, Central America, and England, they all have things that cannot be explained or more specific a monument. In Egypt, the Pyramids of Giza are one of the most baffling monuments in Cairo. How were people able to create a tomb that size without the help of mathematics or high technological objects? The only answer available is aliens helped with the building project. They must have also helped with the Stonehenge site as well as the Mayan temples around South America. So let me ask you now, do you believe?
Now I’m not fully sure that we’ll ever come into contact with an alien race or not, but I don’t rule out the possibility that we just might. It might not be during my generation, but one day it will come to us when we least expect it to happen. Yet until then I guess we will just have to keep dwelling on the matter of whether there aliens.

Smester #7

When looking for homes, people will always ask which type of area is better to live in. Most people seem to be in the middle when the subject comes down to cities or country. Well, I personally believe that the city is better than any thing in the world. Now I will admit that there are some bad things about cities like gangs, corruption, and etc. Yet, there are good things that make the city attractive.
One of the attractions of a city is its many great sights and activities. For example, in Los Angeles the Hollywood sign and Chinese Theater are the sights that bring the most tourism. With Las Vegas, The Strip is almost the heart of the city because of all the tourist and locals who have been attracted to the sight. And as for New York, The Statue of Liberty is not only the biggest sights for tourist but t he embodiment of the U.S.
Another thing about cities is of course its shopping malls and stores. In every city, the stores are always packed with people and even so famous stars. In major cities, clothes most of the time come from exotic places that make clothes, instruments, delicious candies and assortments. In a way, these stores broaden your horizon on how life is and how it can be. Maybe even make you want to change what you want to be in life.
Not only do clothes and stores make a city great, but it’s art as well. In cities like L.A. and New York art thrives from its veins. Whether if it is graffiti, papier-mâché, clay, or a full on portrait, the city always provides a new type of art. Almost everyone in a city is an artist or does some type of art like game design or fashion. Though there is only one real big purpose for living in a bustling city. That reason is the people who live in it.
I have never met people who are so friendly to everyone than I have in the city. The best part about it is that you get to know so many of them. You get to learn their culture, their experiences, their stories, their sadness and their happiness, and why they are your friends. If I leaved in the country I would probably have either a few friends or no friends at all due to the geography. I personally believe that God has blessed me with being in a city in which I can have an abundance of friends. So, I would suggest to you that when you are looking for houses or condos, come to a city that can provide you with that and much more. Because I believe that once you live in a glorious city like L.A. or New York, you will have the biggest trouble leaving it for the rest of your long glorious life to come.

    Semester #6

In America, a new way of schooling is starting to envelop in are neighborhoods and societies. This type of schooling is known as single sex schools. The basis of the schools is to basically separate males from females by having their own institutions. I personally feel that single sex schools are wrong and should no longer continue. My evidence can convince you that I am correct.
The one reason why I feel the schools should no longer exist is because it damages socializing skills. I say this because in today’s world in order for most of our survival, we must learn to co-exist and work together. Now, if a boy who has constantly worked with only males happens to be matched with a female partner, the resolutions will end up in one of two ways. The male might feel uncomfortable with working with the female for the fact that he has never worked with one. Or the male might become completely prejudice to the female and feel that she must do all the work. An example of this is when you look at police officers.
When one officer’s partners, who have all been males,  dies  and then gets a female partner, not only will he reject her because of being new, but also for being s woman. My second reason is that it leads to prejudice between the sexes and their thoughts on one another. Even though both sexes already have thoughts on the other, it would increase with the division between the two. Males would of course believe more that the female race is inferior and that men are the primary gender when it comes to the building of this country. While women will see men as mostly unintelligent people , who rely on primitive ways to solve problems.
The final reason is that it is a simple solution to complex problem in dealing with child awareness and participation in schools. People believe that if  we separate our genders that this going to increase concentration in the classes. Also, that it might help each sex concentrate on college and not each other. That theory is false to the point that it is funny. No matter if you divide the sexes, both will still be distracted by one thing or another. The problems could be from friends, family problems, and etc. Also it is best for the sexes to interact for both mental reasons. An example is because most men in some way look for a mother like figure in all women. Whether for advice , mental stability, or someone to have as a comforting tool. Most men cannot find that in other men because of the teachings of other males.

THe Army marches as one. A unity in which no foriegn ruler or society can break. Together we are a team with the ultimate goal to protect our country from any disaster imaginable. Together my brothers and sisters stand up to whatever threat comes our way. I would gladly die for them and they would willingly do the eact same thing.

    Concrete Word: Whale

The whale was humongous in size and had  the most graceful wave through the water. No mere man could try and topple this massive creature with all their might. Krill would scatter away from the monsterous opening falling upon them every single inch. Only i could tame this beast with it's massive tail and gigantor posture. But i could have never expected for it to become my friend.

    Prompt # 16

Back in the twentieth century, the average number of children born in a family was five or more. Yet, in the present there are about two children in every family. Many might say that two is an agreeable size for a family. Mostly, I would agree with that statement and I know you would ask the question why? Well the answer comes in a number of reasons.
One reason why I say that two is a reasonable number is because of the economy that we are living in. Today having more than two children would be completely expensive. Imagine if you had more than two kids, was paid minimum wage salaries, and not only that, but lost your job, how would you be able to provide for your family? The answer is you wouldn’t; from buying clothes, groceries, items that the kids want, and then not to mention taxes, you would go completely bankrupt.  Also there are other reasons why.
Another reason is because it’s easy to control the household when there are only one or two kids in the home. I say this because there is a better length of authority in the house than if a family had four or more. Instead of worrying about what every four or more kids are doing, a parent can be able to monitor the children easily. Not only that but it helps the child in the long run.
Statistics have proven that there are a bigger percentage of children who come from a four person family to go to college and become successful in later life than a child that comes from a family of seven or more.  The reason for this is the fact that in a family of four, each child can get the same amount of attention as the other and interact with each other better. While children coming from a huge family sometimes will feel left out of the family due to the size of the family.  If it was smaller, there would be less signs of depression from loneliness and more signs of happiness.
The last reason why is because it eliminates “the middle child syndrome”, that is most prevalent with most large families in the United States. “The middle child syndrome” is term to describe a child who is the third to be born in the large family, who tends to begin to show a behavior of depression, a feeling of not being wanted, and having poor attitudes towards their families and/or friends. With a family of four, both children would get the same amount of attention as the other.
Now I’m not saying no one should try to have a big family as we did in the last century, but I caution the reader to think first about the choice before anything. Having a huge family requires a huge amount of responsibility and awareness to every child. It also requires of course the financial stability to handle the kids. I hope that once the reader reads this he or she will understand this.

    Persuasive Essay

In countries like Russia, Greece, and Germany, it is required for every citizen to serve a year in the military. So, people ask why is that the United States does not do the same as well? This question is easy for me to answer. It is because the army is something that a person must fully be ready to join, in both heart and mind. It should not be the government’s choice on who joins the military or not.
The fact of me being in the armed forces myself, I know firsthand on how the military works and who is accepted into the army. Personally, I felt it was my obligation to serve my country and sacrifice my life, if necessary, to protect it. Yet, that was my decision to volunteer, not the government that I am protecting. If the U.S. was to start having conscription, which is when the government makes it law for citizens to join for a year or more in the armed forces, there would be a huge uprising and protest. An example of this is during the drafts of the Vietnam War. Almost every American during that time was in a fury to resist the draft.
Now, imagine if every person within the legal drafting age was required to serve a year or more in the military? There would be so much upheaval and civil unrest in the American society, there might even be another civil war to hit America. Another reason for me choosing to not support conscription is the knowing that not everyone is built for the army. In the army, the NCO’s, non- commission officers; separate the strong from the weak. For me, I was strong mentally and physically enough to be accepted into the armed forces. Yet, if we had conscription those who were weak would be forced by law to become strong enough for it. Making most of the draftees have low self esteem and an even bigger dislike for the army.
Also it brings less respect to the army from its citizens. The citizens of America have in many ways denied the authority of people with great power for many centuries. From the fight for independence from Britain, the Texas Revolution, to the Civil War. So it would then be no surprise if America started to resist the law of conscription. No citizen would support any war efforts or any veterans of wars because of conscription.
The final reason why I would resist conscription is because it weakens the moral of the draftees. An example of this is when you talk to a person who is in the Israeli armed forces. Almost half of the members of the Israeli armed forces do not like the idea of them serving for something they do not want to die for. Now making the rising dislike for the army even bigger than before. So ask yourself, would you like the thought of joining something you don’t want to?

What I Think Was A Great Movie

Rarely is there a film that comes along that challenges the human psyche. What is also rare is that most movies never talk to you about the difference between what is real and what is imagination. Christopher Nolan ask us this question with his 2010 released movie called, “Inception”. This movie will go down as one of the most mind blowing sci-fi mystery films in the twenty first century. So, I say you should watch this film too.
The film is set during modern times on Earth. The protagonist of the film is Dominic Cobb, played by Leonardo Dicaprio, who goes into dreams to find out secrets about his victims and con them. He then gets an offer from a man named Saito to go into the mind of rival’sson. Yet, in order to do that he and his team must go through a state called inception. The risk is so high in inception that if you die in the dream, you go into an empty dream space called limbo. The film has many twist and turns, but finally ends in a happy note. Though, the ending makes you start thinking on was it real or just a dream.
Well, all I know is that this movie really entertained me to the point that it made me want to start filming my own short films. But I wasn’t the only one that was entertained. Many critics loved the film due to it being very innovate, stylistic, and smart. The movie alone grossed over 23.7 million dollars on opening day and over 500 million overall. Other than them money that was gained from the showing of this film, the other factor of Inception was the visual effects used in the process of most of the scenes.
Throughout the dreams that Dominic infiltrates, the world in the dream bends and shapes to his command. The designers of the game, most who worked on The Dark Knight , worked vigorously to design the settings into an alternate world where there are no since of boundaries and no sets of scientific rules such as gravity. What is interesting about this film though is that there is not a lot of use with computer – generated effects in the movie.  Rather, he decided to use simpler methods to solve the action and high effect scenes inside the production of the film. Though , some scenes required time and planning to make the final product. Example, in one scene Dominic begins to bend the city of Paris; they do this by taking snapshots of Parisian streets, while filming was still going on. Then they pieced the parts together and used other effects to finally make the look as if Paris is actually bending.
Even though the effects and plot are great what is the main theme of the whole movie is it’s question. What is the difference between reality and imagination.Probably we will never know this answer to that question. But the one question that I can answer is was thisa good film. And I say no, it was the greatest film in all of cinema.

    Persuasive Essay Prompt# 34

Do have any brothers and sisters?

Yes I have three sisters. Elisha is the oldest, Jazsmine the 2nd oldest, and Destiney the youngest. We dont talk to each other that much but when we do we're the best of friends. We always go to the best places. We go to six flags and out to resturants.

If you could have any animal for a pet, what would it be?

If I could have any pet it would is simply a dog. The reason why I just want a dog is because I already know how to take care of them. The dog would be either a beagle or a dalmatian.  I would have a scheduled  time for everything I do with the dog. I would walk it in the mornig until I have to go to school. Before I leave, I would put a bowl of food and water for it.  When I got home I would play with it until i need to do homework.

I know there are alot of perks to being the only one in the world like free parking, an abudance of food, and not to mention no traffic , but the human psyche has become adapted to socializing with ohers. So to be alone would drive me crazy.

I looked outside and I saw a T-rex. At first I swas scared, but then I started thinking about all the money and publicity I could get. So then when it wasn't looking I grabbed a rope and tied it around it's neck. It didn't make a big fuss, so then I lead it to the local musem and gave it to them to get some news on it. Once I got all the awards and money I grabbed him again and rented a plane to take it to a jungle where could live the rest of it's life in a place whre it can be free.

If I could cook any meal for my family it would be a favorite Cantonese meal of mine, orange chicken and chow mein. I would start by first buying a 1/2 pound fresh egg noodles, 2 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, and  1 teaspoon of Asian peanut oil. Then I would get a 12 inch pan and put grease over it so then the noodles wont stick. But before I fry them, first I boil them for a couple of min. until their tender and while it is still cookng I make sure to stir it. Theni drain out all of the water and put in the Asian peanut oil. Then I put the noodles in the pan and use  spatula and press down. Then I turn the noodles onto its other side. After that then I put it on a plate and wait for it to cool down. As for the orange chicken I just get from the store in the box.

There was something about the way she moved that made men drool over her. Her hips moving up and down and side to side was almost like a  new hypnotizing machine. Her face was like an African god created her with his own fingers to make her perfect. Her eyes were like tht of the core of a volcano ; it was scary and made ur heart ache, yet you could not turn your head away from it. Her lips were moist like dew in he morning when te sun is just about to have fully risen. Thats when she smiled at me and I saw the train wreck on her teeth. Mounds of metal were stuck to them as if I was watchin buildings being blown up in War Of  The Worlds. Thats when I just walked away.

    In this dream

In this dream I was a soldier trapped in with a bunch of my brothers in arms at my school. These creatures were chasing them, ripping them apart, and eating them alive. All I could do was shot from out of the box; I couldnt pick them up or drag them to safety. Then the same creatures started entering my box and my allies fired at them but they just kept coming . Within a few minutes I was being eaten alive ; seeing my guts being shreded apart and eaten. And then finally I woke up.

    DO you remember?

Do you remember when we could just hve fun and not be trapped by all of these problems in the world? When we were more focused on chasing after girls, than chasing after deadlines for applying to universites. Man, I miss those days. Hopefully after all this is done with, I can get back to those days. BUt, for now It will be the same crap over and over again.
